INFORMATION OF DOCTORAL DISSERTATION
- Dissertation title: “Existence and concentration of solutions for elliptic equations involving the fractional p-Laplacian operator”.

NEW SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS OF THE DISSERTATION
The dissertation achieves the following results:
- In theory:
The dissertation successfully investigates and establishes the existence of nontrivial, nonnegative weak solutions for a class of multi-phase fractional equations in RN involving nonlinearities with exponential growth of Trudinger-Moser type.
It successfully proves the existence of weak solutions and investigates the ground state energy problem for a multi-phase Choquard equation with critical exponent. Furthermore, it establishes the existence of weak solutions for a non-autonomous multi-phase fractional Choquard equation involving two competing potentials.
The existence of weak solutions is also established for a multi-phase fractional Kirchhoff-Schrödinger type equation with a singularity on RN
under both critical and supercritical exponential growth conditions. For the supercritical case, the dissertation introduces a novel modified functional to reduce the problem to the critical setting, thereby overcoming the lack of compactness of the embeddings and the failure of the Trudinger-Moser type inequalities.
The obtained results independently extend and significantly enrich previous works by several domestic and international authors, such as Chen–Li–Yang, Ambrosio, and Nguyen Van Thin.
2. In practice:
The dissertation analyzes and elucidates the concentration phenomenon of solutions as the parameter approaches zero. The results indicate that, after an appropriate translation change of variables, the sequence of solutions for the non-autonomous problem converges strongly to a solution of the limiting problem. Furthermore, it is proved that the global maximum of the concentrating solution concentrates around the global minimum of the potential V and the global maximum of the potential Q.
The mathematical models and classes of non-local operators investigated in this dissertation provide a solid mathematical theoretical foundation, promising high potential for application in describing and processing physical systems, quantum mechanics, material sciences, fluid dynamics, as well as practical biology.
APPLICATIONS IN PRACTICE AND THE NEEDS FOR FURTHER STUDIES
The practical applications
The dissertation significantly enriches and deeply contributes to the qualitative theory of partial differential equations involving non-local operators and the Choquard convolution.
The research findings make a substantial contribution to scientific research and postgraduate training in Mathematical Analysis at the University of Education – Thai Nguyen University in particular, as well as math graduate schools nationwide in general.
The dissertation serves as a highly valuable reference for mathematicians, lecturers, and students passionate about variational methods in nonlinear elliptic equations.
Further studies needed
To continue expanding the research to prove the existence of solutions for multi-phase fractional Choquard equations involving competing potentials in the case of a small parameter. To extend the current isolated results to the study of the existence and properties of solutions for more complex, coupled systems of multi-phase fractional equations.
